My Climate Change Reflection

I always thought that climate change was an ongoing insue especially in todays society. I think that this weeks lecture was very necessary becuase it is an important topic to be talking about. Learning babout climate change has always been in my education growing up but reciently, I see it as a more pressing issuee because no one seems to care anymore. The kids my age seem to think of it as a hoax, not all but most! I think this is a very naive way to think because of how pressing of an issue this is.

My project reflection

I enjoyed doing this project becuase it broupt me back to elementary school were me and my mom used to stay up for nights on end doing my science fair projects. I used to really enjoy the scientific method and carrying this out into my projects. I hthink this was a good project to help refresh my memory and bring the scientific method back into my memory so I can help teach it in the future!

Scientific Method

The scientific method is very useful when conducting an experiment because it helps to minimize biases, this helps improve the results. In the clip from Back to the Future, you can see Marty and Doc. use the scientific method. The parts of the scientific method.  are making observations, forming questions, making hypotheses, doing an experiment, analyzing the data, and forming a conclusion. The steps of the scientific method work together to ensure that the scientist sticks to the facts and doesn't go off on biases and stays only on facts. The scientific is a more efficient way to do something because of its accuracy. The scientific method is part of a process that is continuous and can change as time goes on. Many things change as time goes on and has many different variables. scientists use qualitative, quantitative, experimental, and nonexperimental methods during the Scientific method because they base their whole hypothesis off of what they see and notice during the process.

I think that watching the video and reviewing with questions really helped bring back my memory of the scientific method. I did very well on the quiz and I enjoyed reviewing lessons that I used to enjoy learning in grade school.

The first photo is a linear chart instead of the second one that is ongoing in a circle. I think that the second picture describes how it should be better because it shows how things can always change and you always should go back to your work and review. The TED talk explains how you need to learn by being an active researcher and not just memorize facts to come to a conclusion. The other video talks about how the "crazy" people are the ones who actually change the world and make a difference.

Elaborate/Wonder & Wow

Write your summary reflections, commentaries on your blogs providing a reference to the sources whenever possible.

3 things you discovered

1. I discovered why the scientific method is so important. The guiding questions helped me realize how important this method is.

2. I discovered from the TED talk that doing things hands-on is a better way of learning.

3. I discovered how geckos are able to hold on to walls and crawl up them.

2 interesting facts or details

1. In order for the student to see how a single gecko hair works she had to position it the exact way that the gecko would walk up the wall, any other way wouldn't work.

2. I think that it is cool that there is a new way now of thinking of an adhesive. By figuring this out av new sticky substance has been found

1 question you still have

1. Go to this JamBoard to share your WONDER with your colleagues.

My first blog !

The first week of virtual learning was very difficult. I much rather be in classes face to face because I find it difficult to focus through zoom. I find the eclasses very hard to navigate because they are flooded with work and lectures. It seems that teachers are also giving more work than usual. I think once teachers and students get more used to online learning it will be a lot easier and work more smooth for everyone.
